So sorry that my computer cannot type chinese. So i have to type in english.I have the same feeling too.I feel like going to beijing again. To meet my buddy and others. This is the 1st time taking a flight with my friends. So i am super excited. In beijing,i learn many new stuffs about their country and i enjoy the trishaw rides.AHAHA!not as sway as lao zhuang for the trishaw hit.HAHA!Oh yah..and they very enthusiastic to answer questions. Not like us,push here and there.AHAHA!And their dumplings super nice lah!O.o..and i love great wall too!although the weather there is cold, but it gives me somekind of new experience.I really really really would like to get to beijing again. And i would like to thank my buddy for taking care of me.NICE BUDDY!
I'm sure that the days we spent in China, Beijing will definately be my most memorable and beautiful memories in my secondary days. This was my very first time I went overseas with my friends. We visited many places such as the world's biggest square( The Tiananmen Square),the world's biggest palace ( The Forbiddden City) and the most famous shopping streets( Wangfujing Commercial Street) We even climbed the world's longest human-made struture--The Great Wall! It was truely amazing. The days at Beijing Gaojiayuan Middle School was wonderful. The students there were all so friendly and nice. I also got to know some of them. Their attitude towards study were very serious too. Their lessons were all taught and explained in Chinese instead of English. It was really a great experience for us and I really enjoy myself alot. My understandings towards Beijing and relationship with my friends grew as well. (:
ok, so, before i actually start this thing, why do we have to write so many reflections? like, hello, isn't a 6-day journal enough? we've been loyally penning down what we've gone through, felt, seen, heard, tasted, smelt for the entire journal, but is it enough to satisfy the teachers' needs, whims and pleas? oh no, it has got to be another reflection. and after that, the teacher goes, "right class, because' of lack of creativity and thinking skills, you all will compile a 6-day journal to beijing in one reflection, even though you've done that on every page of the journal." right, here I go, recounting my past experiences like it’s the first time.
PLAY |> my recent trip to beijing was a more than memorable experience. when i first exited the stuffy airport in beijing, it was like as if a cool breeze had swept across my face (pity not off my feet, but then i would be a laughing stock for years to come) and welcomed me to this foreign country. the sun’s weakened rays against the cool weather seemed to be our only source of natural warmth back then, but with our friends huddled together, warmth from the sun seemed so overrated (ok, that part is so extra).

gao jia yuan middle school was obviously our most favourite place to visit in the whole 6-days (ok, not true; the shopping trip was very, very fun- but hey, I’ve got to tell a lie to spice my work up sometime. but come to think about it now, I wasn’t telling much a lie either. i’m sure everyone loved their buddies, so they must like going to the school, right?). we made friends with our buddies who took care of us with much enthusiasm and hospitality, and we learnt many things about schools in beijing that differed from schools in singapore. instead of pretending to pick up a pencil one purposely drops, the students in gao jia yuan middle school were extremely eager to answer the teachers’ questions. instead of 40 rowdy pupils per class, the teachers had only need to deal with about 20 per class. instead of canteen where one can pick one’s meal of the day from, the students had to eat rice, vegetables and meat delivered in buckets, and served in recycled utensils. instead of playing basketball during P.E, the students had to do a supposedly healthy dance or run around the track. instead of a humongous hall where the school’s events take place, the students had only a small room consisting of limited foldable chairs to listen to speeches. instead of instrumental music played every morning, the students could listen to the radio and the modern pop songs being played during breaks. instead of having continuous lessons non-stop for 6 hours, the students were given miniature breaks and eye exercises in between. instead of fretting over one’s crush or girlfriend/boyfriend, the students are even more worried about their results. instead of having every lesson taught in english except for mother tongue periods, the students had every lesson taught in chinese except for english period.

i suppose that unlike us, the students in gao jia yuan middle school were fortunate. in singapore, a long story made short, a phrase to describe us students, would be:
NO EDUCATION= NO WORK= NO MONEY= NO LIFE
yet even with this phrase, we singapore students do not know how to appreciate the fortune of being able to study. we take education for granted, and some of us do not even care if they flunk a test. Now, looking at the gao jia yuan middle school students, who is to say that they do not love being able to study? they obviously appreciate the chance of being able to study and learn. yet they do not know the phrase we singaporeans have to go by. i think that this is their trait that we should learn to adapt in our lives.

going home and back to singapore was another adventure altogether. goodbye beijing friends- there is not a moment of my life and every passing day that I have not reminisced of your face and smiled.

finished! i hope you don’t ask us to write another crap story of our lives in beijing. i swear i’ll be meaner and more sarcastic, plus i’ll exploit what you teachers have mocked at. ok, i might as well do it now- i have learned that when you dance or sing in front of your teachers, some of them laugh at you secretly and say ‘aiyohr! xia suay ahr!’ thanks for mocking at our hard work. and for sitting there while we performed, blocking our way with your precious bodies. and for laughing at us afterwards. much appreciated.
